Meet Your Reading Specialist
My name is Shamika, and I am a Reading & Dyslexia Interventionist and certified Special Education teacher with extensive experience supporting students with reading difficulties, including dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Through my work with struggling readers, I have seen how many bright children continue to struggle simply because they need explicit, structured instruction.
Using the structured literacy and Orton-Gillingham approach, I provide systematic, evidence-based reading intervention designed to build strong decoding, spelling, and language skills. My goal is to help every child build the foundation needed to become a confident, independent reader.
Every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader.
